Elle a grandi en jouant avec des morceaux d\u2019\u00e9toffes emprunt\u00e9s \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re, depuis leur magasin de famille ainsi qu\u2019en courant \u00e0 travers les vignobles de ses oncles en Cr\u00e8te, des fameux vinificateurs dont les vins ont d\u00e9cern\u00e9 plusieurs prix partout dans la plan\u00e8te.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ellie Lyraraki est n\u00e9e \u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes o\u00f9 elle a grandi; or, elle est originaire de l\u2019\u00eele de Cr\u00e8te et plus particuli\u00e8rement d\u2019un petit village \u00e0 H\u00e9raklion qui s\u2019appelle Alagni, ou Alagonie pendant l\u2019antiquit\u00e9. Par ailleurs, une grande partie de la mythologie grecque est n\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u00eele ensoleill\u00e9e de Cr\u00e8te. C\u2019\u00e9tait Jupiter qui, en forme de taureau, enl\u00e8ve Europe et l\u2019am\u00e8ne en Cr\u00e8te.<\/p>\n

Le fruit de leur union donne naissance \u00e0 Alagonie, le lieu d\u2019origine, la terre natale de la cr\u00e9atrice. Pour vous, l\u2019enl\u00e8vement d\u2019Europe ne repr\u00e9sente qu\u2019une peinture de la Renaissance mais pour la cr\u00e9atrice dont la langue maternelle est le grec, le mot Europe signifie la dame aux grands yeux, aux yeux \u00e9carquill\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est sous cette ample perspective de la cr\u00e9atrice originaire de l\u2019Alagonie qu'a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e la collection des chaussures faites \u00e0 la main et num\u00e9rot\u00e9es pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par la cr\u00e9atrice pour cette saison, lors de la semaine de la mode.<\/p>\n

Ellie a fait des \u00e9tudes en musique ainsi que d'architecture d\u2019int\u00e9rieur afin de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de l\u2019entreprise de famille dont elle s\u2019occupe; \u00e7a fait 8 ans qu\u2019elle a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Chania, en Cr\u00e8te, avec sa famille. Unissant ses forces avec son mari qui conna\u00eet l\u2019art ancien de fabrication des sandales, ils ont \u00e9tabli un atelier de fabrication de sandales en cuir, faites \u00e0 la main. Ils s\u2019occupent du dessin et de la fabrication de sandales, de chaussures \u00e0 talon compens\u00e9, de ballerines, de sacs, de boucles d\u2019oreilles, de bracelets et de colliers.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e8s vite, ils sont tomb\u00e9s amoureux de ce travail, et pas \u00e0 pas, ils ont su faire nourrir leurs r\u00eaves ainsi que leurs aspects cr\u00e9atifs. Actuellement, leurs collections pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter sont disponibles dans plusieurs boutiques en Gr\u00e8ce et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, Ellie Lyraraki pr\u00e9sentera sa collection couture Alagonie qui inclut 15 paires de chaussures num\u00e9rot\u00e9es, faites \u00e0 la main, inspir\u00e9es par la civilisation minoenne, la civilisation europ\u00e9enne la plus ancienne, et surtout des fresques c\u00e9l\u00e8bres de Cnossos. Toute la recherche pour la collection a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9e en collaboration avec archeologues et historians, ainsi qu\u2019avec des artisans qui ont vraiment \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 fond les techniques utilis\u00e9es pendant le XVIe si\u00e8cle en broderie traditionnelle, faite \u00e0 la main, pour d\u00e9corer les costumes traditionnels, utilisant le fameux fil continu, qui ne se coupe pas.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

De plus, pour ces chaussures enti\u00e8rement fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 la main, des peintres ont collabor\u00e9 pour appliquer le batik, en utilisant une technique pionni\u00e8re, dans le domaine des chaussures, qui veut que la cire soit mise sur la soie. De l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, des orf\u00e8vres ont fabriqu\u00e9 les bijoux en pierres pr\u00e9cieuses et semi-pr\u00e9cieuses qui \u00e9taient par la suite appliqu\u00e9es sur les chaussures ainsi que les collections de bijoux qui les accompagnent.<\/p>\n

Un de ces bijoux est l\u2019abeille dor\u00e9e pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e au Mus\u00e9e Britannique: ces yeux sont fabriqu\u00e9s avec des rubis pour les chaussures, avec des brillants noirs pour les boucles d\u2019oreilles et avec des \u00e9meraudes pour le collier. Le taureau, quant \u00e0 lui, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait en lapis-lazuli, la pierre que les Minoens eux-m\u00eames utilisaient \u00e9galement!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

La collection est compl\u00e9t\u00e9e par des foulards tout en soie, peints \u00e0 la main, \u00e0 l\u2019aide de la technique batik.\nLes chaussures sont accompagn\u00e9es d'une pochette en soie, faite \u00e0 la main, qui est inspir\u00e9e par le vourgali, un type de sac typiquement cr\u00e9tois, sur lequel a \u00e9t\u00e9 cousu, \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un fil continu, le symbole de l\u2019Alagonie, la petite fleur que l\u2019on trouve sur les fresques de Cnossos.<\/p>\n

Elli Lyraraki was born and raised in Athens.<\/p>\n

She studied music and Interior design.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Elli has been living permanently in her place of origin, in Crete.<\/p>\n

She is the first Greek Designer to present with great success a collectible line of shoes and jewelry at the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris inspired by the Minoan Culture.<\/p>\n

All the International Fashion Magazines wrote about this inspiring Collection ALAGONIA-MINOAN STEPS, which captured an entire culture, the First European culture of Europe on shoes.<\/p>\n

In the summer of 2019 had the opportunity to accompany her shoes, Victoria’s Beckam and Isabel’s Marant collections to an ecofriendly fashion show at Saint Tropez.<\/p>\n

In 2020 she had the honor to design the sandals and jewelry for the Tokyo Olympics.<\/p>\n

Elli Lyraraki is Art Ambassador of Greece, participating in a new project where distinguished Greek artists present their work in various embassies in Greece and around the world.<\/p>\n

She is also a painter and many of her works have been exhibited in various painting exhibitions in Athens, London, Moscow, Instanbul and Cyprus.<\/p>\n

She has participated in 2017 in the Group Exhibition of Greek painters at the Mytara Hall in Chalkida, in February 2019 at the Group Exhibition of important Greek painters at the Hellenic-French association in Athens, Kolonaki and in Gallery studio in Kifissia, Athens.<\/p>\n

The French-German Channel ART-E presented a Documentary in 2021 about her work and how she is inspired by Minoan Culture and life in modern Crete.<\/p>\n

She is the founder of the Minoan Steps Foundation in order to preserve the old arts and traditions inspired by the culture of Crete.<\/p>\n

In 2020 opened the first boutique-gallery in Chania, Crete, where all the collections and many of her paintings are presented.<\/p>\n

In 2021 The Federation of Olympia commissioned her to design the Jewel-Symbol of The Olympic Sport of Archery.<\/p>\n

French Television TV5 MONDE made a tribute to her work in the summer of 2021.<\/p>\n

In the Autumn of 2021 she was the speaker at the 12th WORLD PHILOSOPHICAL FORUM held at the “Parnassos Philological Association in Athens”.<\/p>\n

In October 2021 a series of her paintings works were also exhibited at the Philological Association “Parnassos” in Athens.<\/p>\n

In April of 2022 designed the Olympic Runner in the context of the Art Excibition of the Street Olympic Truce organized by the Federation of Olympia.<\/p>\n

In June of 2022 the First Retrospective Exhibition took place in the Mytara Hall in Chalkida.<\/p>\n

In November 2022 she presented a series of her paintings and Jewelry at The Exhibit 8 Gallery in Limassol, Cyprus.<\/p>\n

In February 2023 participated at the “Saw This Made This”, organized by The Magazine Marie Claire for BOMBAY SAPPHIRE.<\/p>\n

2023 was honoured by THE ORGANIZATION His Majesty The Greek Immigrant as one of the\u00a0 151 Greek Women on the\u00a0 world who honor\u00a0 Greece\u00a0<\/p>\n

abroad with their work.<\/p>\n

In the summer of\u00a0 2023 at the HOUSE OF CULTURE in Rethymno ,it held her first Retrospective Exhibition in Crete under the Auspices of the\u00a0<\/p>\n

Region of CRETE in co-organization with the\u00a0 Municipality of Rethymnon.<\/p>\n

she has been characterized by The Financial Times as Neo-Minoan aesthetic Designer.<\/p>\n

In 2024 she designed The Enthymeme for The Regional Governor of Crete.<\/p>\n

In july 2024 ,she represented Greece at The Business Forum Bridge in India in London.<\/p>\n

In Novemberr of\u00a0 the same year , she held a retrospective exhibition of her jewelry and paintings at the Greek-French Association\u00a0<\/p>\n

in Kolonaki.’<\/p>\n

In 2025\u00a0 ,she created the emblem for the Karolos Kampelopoulos Museum in Chania .<\/p>\n

Since June of 2025 she is a contributing writer for the magazine Likewoman.gr<\/p>\n
